An introvert in lockdown
There are things about this lockdown
That this introvert enjoys
No need for social chit chat
No need for excess noise
Don’t converse
Instead write verse
.
Theres things to miss,
of course there are
I miss my podcasts in the car.
I miss my family and friends
Though social media makes amends
Don’t drive
Stay alive
.
But most of all I miss live sport
Football, tennis, any sort
I love to be part of a crowd
That shouts and sings and cheers aloud
I want to get back on a train
And make my way to White Hart Lane
Don’t trouble
Stay in the bubble
.
The time will come
But I’ll not hurry
To go straight back to normal flurry
What to keep and what to leave
A brand new balance to achieve
.
There is however one clear lesson
I will not dispose of my obsession
I’ll have the tickets, I’ll be there
To watch, to cheer, to clap, to stare
To share the joy
To share the passion
But still retain my “inny” fashion.
